Restoration

LockmasterHouseA grand dame no more,
Hollow and vacant,
vestiges of stature endure
like the architecture of skin
and bones.

Memories stand
just behind the handsome frame
Longing to lean out
Of the sockets,
Resurrected by you.

Don’t be afraid.
Take my body housed with intimacies,
Well loved once and
Willing still, though brittle.
There is still hope
To restore, to save me.
