Cut up

The split wit’s aortic bleed started
with cutting humour, followed by
relentless parry and thrust
of a banter brandished rapier
saved thanks to a badinage bandage
until touché, nothing left to say.

    • I subscribe to Dictionary.com’s “word of the day”. I think all of the on-line dictionaries do something similar. I’ve been subscribing for years but the words never “stick” so I decided to make an effort to use them so I could remember the dang things.
